| Every guy has wished for a
miracle musk; a magical cologne that can ensnare the
woman of his dreams.
No such secret
formula exists, of
course, but the right scents can put a woman in the
mood. Surely masculine smells like Old Spice or
cognac do the trick, right? Wrong. Pumpkin pie or
licorice are more likely to get her juices flowing.
 Licorice
and cucumber
A licorice and cucumber concoction is the most
effective in triggering a response in both women and
men. It boosts sexual appetite in women more than
any other smell. The explanation? Odors are
intricately associated with sexual arousal. Licorice
and cucumber don’t seem sexy, but it is theorizes
that their smells may make women comfortable and
lower their anxiety levels. A relaxed woman will be
more open to your advances (assuming that you have
played your cards right to begin with).
Where to find it: It may be difficult to get
cucumber air freshener, but soaps and shampoos are
easy to find, and the slight scent of cucumber on
your skin could work wonders. Licorice tea is widely
available in supermarkets and specialty shops carry
licorice-scented candles. A small dish of Good ‘N
Plenty candy can also do the trick.
Banana
nut bread
The smell of banana nut bread is almost as effective
as licorice and cucumber. What is the best way to
make your house smell like banana nut bread? Bake
some. It’s easy. You’ll score major points with your
date, you’ll have a great dessert and the smell of
baked goods could get you in the sack sooner than
you anticipated.
Where to find it: Locate a recipe and bake the
banana bread yourself to reap the true rewards.

Vanilla
Vanilla is one of those familiar, welcoming scents
that can get women and men in the mood. Studies have
shown that vanilla has a relaxing effect and may act
as an aphrodisiac. Even Thomas Jefferson may have
used vanilla bean to spice up his love life; he has
been credited with bringing the spice to the United
States in the late 1700s, and vanilla’s romantic
qualities were recognized soon thereafter.
In the 1800s, Dr. John King, in King's American
Dispensatory (1898), recommended a concoction of
vanilla extract to "stimulate the sexual
propensities." Vanilla bean has been crushed and
used in French and Chinese perfumes throughout the
ages, and has proven to be one of the most potent
and universal romantic scents known to man.
Where to find it: Vanilla candles can be found
almost anywhere and most popular bath product shops
carry vanilla soap. Vanilla extract can be found at
any grocery store (for baked goods) and can be used
in small quantities in tea.

Peppermint
Peppermint
oil has miraculous qualities. According to
aromatherapy experts at WholeHealthMD.com, it can
treat an upset stomach, relieve pain, control muscle
aches, and even clear congestion. It can also
titillate and invigorate both women and men, putting
a zing into your sex life. Peppermint smells great
on your breath, making you a more attractive kissing
partner.
Where to find it: Peppermint oil can be found in the
baking isle of most major supermarkets. The oil,
when used sparingly, can add a fresh kick to baked
goods or herb teas. Of course, peppermint tea is
also readily available. Looking for peppermint air
fresheners? Check out your local bed and bath store;
they’ll likely have more than a few to spice up the
atmosphere in your bedroom.

Jasmine
Sweet and soothing, a little jasmine in the air can
relieve tension and set the stage for romance.
Jasmine can enhance mood, therefore increasing your
ability to charm the pants off your mate.
Where to find it: Jasmine is a little more
specialized than the other scents in this article.
You’ll likely have to visit a bed and bath store or
an aromatherapy shop to get your hands on some
jasmine oil or air fresheners. Jasmine tea will be
easier to find and it can be served on a chilly
night or a warm evening.

The right
scent in the air can help your
love
life, but it’s no sure formula for success in the
sack. Use fragrances sparingly and carefully --
don’t overwhelm your date with toxic clouds of
vanilla extract or peppermint. Above all, don’t mix
too many smells. Just like in cooking, too many
smells or flavors are just plain gross. Still, the
right amount and combination of scents will work
wonders. |
